Our first Membership Planning Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21st at 6:30pm (for one hour).

The goal of this session is to brainstorm ideas around whether a Free Membership Tier is sustainable for Waukesha Makerspace in 2026 and beyond. If it’s not, how can we still provide meaningful value to people who cannot afford the Unlimited Tier? Ideas could include things like limited free access, a free month trial, limited-use starter days, or other creative solutions.

    Meeting format:

    • Zoom is the primary method of attendance, though one or two members may listen in from the conference room at the space.

    • Please plan to be fully present and attentive via Zoom, as we have a lot to cover in just one hour.

    • This is a brainstorming session—come with an idea ready to share, and be prepared to listen with an open mind.

    • Each participant (6 total) will have 5 minutes to present their idea uninterrupted.

    • All ideas will be added to our “idea pool”—no idea is a bad idea at this stage.

    • The remaining time will be spent discussing the strengths and value of each idea.

    • A follow-up meeting will be scheduled to vote on our top 3 ideas and refine them further.

Please review this document in advance:
Brian “Oz” Oswald has compiled an idea doc for review and will be presenting his concept during the meeting:
    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cziQAAnYeY-N44u8OrJMYuNcptTpig6CBaeC1EFXxDM/edit?usp=sharing

Come open-minded, ready to share, and ready to support one another as we shape the future of our membership model.

Join us for a monthly series of hands-on hack nights where we build, tinker, and reimagine robotics kits from CrunchLabs (by Mark Rober). Each session, we’ll assemble one, or more, of the Hack Packs together as a group, and then hack the kit into something wild, wonderful, or downright weird.

These kits are designed to be modified—so after we build, we brainstorm, collaborate, and customize them however we like. If a session fills up, we’ll split into groups and each tackle a kit. It’s collaborative, fun, and filled with experimentation.

No experience necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to make cool stuff.

When: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Tuesdays or Wednesdays, monthly)
Where: Waukesha Makerspace, 2111 S West Ave Unit 58, Waukesha WI 53189
Who: Makers of all ages (recommended 12+ with adult supervision)
    Cost: Free for members.

Get ready for an afternoon of fun, friendly competition, and community! All members are welcome—and so are your guests. Whether you’re a seasoned strategist or just learning your first game, there’s something for everyone.

The shop has dozens of board games to choose from, and you’re welcome to bring your personal favorites as well. We’ll be teaching games throughout the event (many are quick and easy to pick up—Dominion is a personal favorite!).

Feel free to bring food for yourself or something to share, but no pressure—just bring yourself and an interest in having fun. We’ll have tables set up for smaller groups (most games accommodate 4–5 players), and if there’s interest near the end, we may fire up some Jackbox party games for a lighthearted group experience.

Let us know you’re coming, and we’ll save you a seat at the table.
